Staffordshire Polychrome Brown Transfer Ware Plate

Royal Cauldon

For consideration is this antique plate from a rare series by Royal Cauldon. This plate looks a lot like creamware with an all over impressed/embossed design done with much intricacy and detail around the border. The plate depicts a very detailed red breasted Meadowlark and Gikdfinch or possibly a Yellow Warbler in a cage.   The brown transfer features shades of gold, black, blue, red, and green.  Beautiful detail!

The plate is in great condition for its age, very fine allover crazing and some allover coloring/slight darkening of the glaze. It has a gorgeous patina.
